The management style of a country is affected by various social and cultural values. This serves to explain the great differences in management style that are visible from country to country. The different values of the inhabitants give shape to many managerial factors such as the style of leadership, the methods of motivation and negotiation styles of the managers within the country. The effect of the cultural identity upon management and workers is evident when examining Bolivia and Slovakia. Situated on different continents, with extremely different histories and values, the management style differs greatly between the two countries. However, curiously, they also possess a few similarities. Both countries have recently entered into programmes of macroeconomic stabilization, which has affected the preferred styles of management.
Bolivia broke away from Spanish rule in 1825, and has a history filled with nearly 200 coups and counter-coups. …
