The talented Mr. William Golding envisioned us with the rise and fall of a society in his novel, The Lord of the Flies. The book tells the story of a group of boys that struggle to survive on their own. The struggles of the Roman Catholic Church during the Reformation is comparable to the boy*s. As people find physical aspects of life more appealing than having morality, the society becomes fragmented, because people are naturally more attracted to instant gratification for themselves then to working hard.
