The poem consists of three quatrains, the rhythm is sustained by several repetitions and parallel constructions. Te end of the first line of a stanza rhymes with the end of the third line, the end of the second line of a stanza rhymes with the end of the fourth line, and the first lines of the first and the last stanzas begin with the same phrase “I will arise and go now”. The verbs in simple future form an enumeration showing the individual’s intention (I will, I have, [I] live), but, what is particular, they may not be found in the last three lines any more, when the narrator returns to his present situation and wakes up from his daydreams.
The mentioned parallelisms add balance and rhythm to the sentence, and the rhythm reminds that of the natural human life within the middle of nature without any stresses and concerns. Also the frequent repetitions of “and… and … and” slows the rhythm and adds the sensation of contemplation and dreaming. One-syllable words may be found in the first and third stanzas more, they are few in the second stanza. …
