People are interested in this, because they would like to be like celebrities and use things like famous people do. Of course, every day we see a lot of commercials about different products or service, and consumers will buy thing which they don’t need at all, but they just want something new, like everybody else or make their range of goods bigger, so they give up for something to get new product. One the one hand information what we get from producers is positive, because we can choose better thing for individual consumer, but on the other hand it could confuse costumers, when they appear to make systematic choices.
Economists assume that consumers have a set of tastes or preferences that they use to guide them in choosing between goods. The variant of this chooses could be the endless, because in our planet live peoples with absolutely different values, tastes and living Feeling. It in depends on culture, our environment and a lot of factors, which affect us.
