However, „The Stern report argued that the cost of tackling climate change would be 1-2% of the global economy, while the cost of doing nothing would be up to 20 times that.” („Jowit”) Consequently not becoming an eco friendly company is more unprofitable than doing so.
All in all the arguments claiming that rich countries are not obliged to put the largest effort into fighting against global warming are ungrounded: industrialised countries have been the biggest polluters, they still do not approve of many environmental policies and finally it would be only profitable for them to restructure their enterprises into nature friendly ones. For these reasons I believe the industrialised countries should be doing much more to prevent climate changes.
