Friday the 13th
"It's strange how society has come to accept "superstition" so plainly and unquestioning" (The Superstition Behind Friday the 13th). Almost every hotel in the States, that is big enough, does not have a 13th floor its simply skipped. However, in Italy the 13th floor is not skipped. The number 13 in Italy is considered good luck instead of bad luck (Douglas). Why is the number 13 considered to be such a bad and unlucky number in the United States?
