There are some crimes that demand a sentence of death. It is the only appropriate punishment for a cruel and heinous crime. Let me start from a glimpse to history. In 19th century, when India was occupied by the British, there was a gang of murdering thieves. Their victims mostly were wealthy travellers. Members of the gang could be disguised as poor beggars or religious mendicants. Sometimes they wore a garb of rich merchants to be able to get closer to their future victims. The killers had a principle: never to spill blood. They always strangled their victims and thus, got a name for their gang – the thuggees.
