5.6Service, Help and Advice
Provision of free trial material plus on-hand technical support to prepare, progress and evaluate production scale trials at customer premises has been the Autopaint approach for a number of years. This approach historically worked well but with an increasingly competitive environment Autopaint need to reposition this offering. This could be done not just by helping and advising during trials or actual production but by offering a completely integrated package. This could include provision of equipment for paint weighing, mixing and spraying, on-line access to colour matching knowledge, colour recipes and mixing schemes plus provision of complete bodyshop management programmes.
Through this approach Autopaint has a much greater contribution to make to the business outcomes for the customer. Both sides being locked into a long-term relationship resting on a foundation of common systems and processes and a mutual interdependence. In this way Autopaint becomes focussed not on selling spray paint into the automotive sectors but on customer success.
