These three paintings have many similarities and differences. They are all three oil paintings done on canvas during the Baroque era. They all fit into the Baroque time period, as they all have a biblical theme or Christian message behind the art work. The Resurrection of Christ and The Calling of St. Matthew are the most alike because the main focus in the paintings is Christ. The are both very dramatic and powerful. These two paintings also show the use of a blending technique. The Flight into Egypt on the other hand also has to do with a biblical theme, but it is very peaceful and vivid. They are all different in size and texture.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I believe all three artists were very talented and an important part of Baroque art. The paintings are meaningful, sending very strong messages. The works of art I have chosen all reflect the Baroque time period in which they all focus on biblical themes. One concentrates on a specific theme and the other two on an individual, Christ.
