Finally, when it becomes to summarize all results, which were reached trough the realism and liberalism approach, it could be said that liberalism ideas prevails in explanation of this conflict, because behind international organizations stands particular states national interests, also as interdependence could be easy replaced by national interests. Human rights violations had a minor role in concerns of international community, but endangerment of security made to take some real actions in this conflict resolution.
The main idea is that liberalists believe in principles, realists - in power. However, there is practice not only in Kosovo case, to fight for liberalism with tools of realism. Therefore when Tony Blair justified the Kosovo war by claiming that the NATO is bombing for its values, that was an implicit invitation to others with different values, to bomb for their values, thus only exacerbating the arising conflicts.
From the approach of realism Sovereign states are the principal actors in the international system and special attention is afforded to large powers as they have the most influence on the international stage and US is one of the biggest power states. Unfortunately Yugoslavia was not essential to US interests and its weakness in the power play of international system could explain the long retardation on behalf of international society. …
