In general, the article describes the development of translation theories, presenting the assessment in translation studies, in addition to description of the ongoing paradigm of the research on translation. The author begins with claiming that considerable progress has been made in the development of science and technology in various fields. The development itself might seem quite encouraging; however, it must be taken into account that the development could become a serious problem in case it is only related to quantity. Sutopo (2019) suggests that developments should always be in balance with improved quality in order to avoid lagging behind. Such efforts are being made through translation activities. …
