We can conclude that colonization was a result of dominant forces coming together and taking over different parts of the world. When two mutually unintelligible speech communities came together, the pidgin language, which is not a native language was formed. It acted as an auxiliary or supplemental language for communication. It can be traced to trade centers and plantations, with slaves from different language backgrounds as well as areas where large groups of people lacking a common language, needed to communicate. When these communities procreated, the language introduced to the children was known as Creoles and it was regarded as their mother tongue. Pidgins and Creoles displayed distinctive features of their own in terms of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.…
