Germany was greatly affected by the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty took considerable amounts of territory and colonial possessions from Germany. The German military was also crushed by the treaty with so many restrictions that it was basically rendered useless. Germany also suffered tremendous economic effects from the Treaty, predominantly in the form of reparations.
Due to the treaty of Versailles Germany lost approximately 13 per cent of its territory in Europe. This included 103 600 square kilometres of land and 7 million people. Also Germany was deemed unworthy of having colonial possessions and they were given to other powers as mandates. …
