Children adopt the same ways of their parents, and learn to apply them in later years. Thus they too get the message that instead of solving problems in humane way, it is better to express feelings by hitting.
Children are like the petals of a bud. If dealt nicely and with care, they blossom onto flowers. However, if they are neglected and treated harshly, they wilt and eventually die. This should be enough example to justify the right treatment towards children. Instead of indulging them in physical punishments and abuse, children should be taught with gentleness the difference between right and wrong. This helps the child to act in the same mature way all their lives, just as their parents had done in their childhood.
