When you first meet Maxine Faulk and Hannah Jelks in The Night of the Iguana they seem to be complete opposites. Maxine is a carefree hippie, who wears old torn clothe, no shoes, and doesn't give damn what anyone else thinks. When Hannah walks up to the resort she resembles the perfect Puritan girl from Nantucket. Despite their contrary physical characteristics, Maxine Faulk and Hannah Jelks have one thing in common.
