The Basics of Interpersonal Communication

Effective speaking means being able to say what you want to say in such a way that it is heard and acted upon. It involves three main areas: the words you choose, how you say them, and how you reinforce them. Active listening means fully concentrating on what is being said, it involves listening with all senses. It is also important that the active listener is also ‘seen’ to be doing so.
