Many internal and external forces influence the behavior of an organization. "An overemphasis on internal causes tends to lead to assignments of failure, to employees accompanied by disciplinary actions, negative performance evaluations, and the like. An underemphasis [sic] on external causes tends to lead to lack of workplace support" (Schermerhorn et al, 2005, p. 160). Once these forces are correctly identified, steps must be taken to modify such forces that place a negative impact on organizational behavior. In the alternative, positive forces reap positive behaviors. Regardless of whether a cause is internal or external, the behavior of an organization is the link between a business which fails and a business which succeeds.…
