While homosexual marriage opponents put up good arguments, no matter how firm the arguments are, many people believe that the equal protection clause will someday prevail. Denying the right to marriage for same-sex couples discriminates based on sexual orientation and sex violating the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. From numerous experiments carried out, statistics have proven that children who grow up under the love of two same-sex parents are as healthy and well brought up as other children. Not only that, couples of the same-sex are as committed to each other and able to lead long lasting relationships as opposite-sex couples. And lastly, the all too often reliance on religion to back up why homosexual unions should be banned is as void of substance, not to mention, as piteous as the excuse for why interracial marriage should be banned; the Bible prohibits it, therefore it is unnatural and immoral.x…
