The story implies many features of humanity and also humor. As regards the structure of the story, it starts with the iintroduction which implies description of the main characters and the office of the wall street. The story is first person narrative. The narrator is an elderly lawyer – the boss of the office, which deals with the legal documents and is loceted on the Wall Street.
At the very beginning of the story the narrator tells about himsel, about the office, and his employees, which are very interesting and expressive personages. Two of them are copyists Turkey, Nippers, but the third one is a young boy named Ginger nut, which does a small things and helps in general. The nicknames are given to them according to their appearance, behavior and actions.
One of the first interesting features of this story is the means of irony and humor, with which the narrator describes his characters. For example, Turkey: ‘In the morning one might say his face was like a fine florid hue, but after twelve o’clock meridian- his dinner hour – it blazed like a grate full of Christmas coals’. So this is evidential that narrator takes his habits for granted and is not very negative about them, but perceives him as aperson witj his own pecularities, which must if not respected, than bore.
