The outline of chapters:
The paper consists of four chapters in which author compares Jason Taylor’s and Holden Caulfield’s experiences of adolescence according to several psychological and social aspects. The first chapter deals with the comparison of the protagonists’ senses of identity. The second chapter deals with the issue of sexuality, how experienced protagonists are and how they see other characters’ experience with opposite sex, also the issue of homosexuality and the importance of this issue in the life of the teenage protagonists. Third chapter reveals the peculiarities and complexity of the teenager society and the influence of the hierarchy on one’s personality and behaviour. The last chapter studies different issues that are very important for adolescents.
