Conclusion
I can conclude by stating that Roccoco was a period of art after Baroque, which occurred in the 18th century, mainly in France. It started off as a form of interior decorating and later progressed to a serious art form. The Roccoco style was highly decorative and ornate and was often considered as the softer, more feminine form of the heroics of Baroque. The subject matter was charming and frivolous, often containing idealised Royalty and classical mythological figures. The most Famous painters of Roccoco were Boucher, Fragonard and Watteau. Perhaps the most famous Roccoco painting was 'The Swing' by Jean Honore Fragonard which epitomises the style.
