DVD technology
Just like CD-ROMs DVDs store information in cells, which are situated on spiral tracks. The main reason for such enormous capacity – 4,7 GB – is the fact that on DVDs the distance between tracks and the cells are plenty times smaller than on CDs. That makes more cells and tracks to be used and of course plenty of space.

DVD-R/RW
First DVD-R was introduced in the year 1997. The standard for itself was created and still is used for Digital Video storing. The main differences between DVD-R and DVD+R disks are writing speed and shape of cells. DVD-R disks could be written on low speed only – 1x to 4x. That of course provides high writing accuracy – data is stored without errors.…
