The age of town is what we saw in the screen whereas the fight club is the epic of the city. Just as will Kane decides to leave the town after getting married he redecides to stay when a killer he arrested runs out of the prison. Kane goes from one gathering place to another, the saloon, church and the homes of his friends. Everyone has an excuse for not helping out. As the moment of truth approaches, Kane realises that he is on his own to face four gunfighters. The entire town is hiding behind closed doors; the word 'loyalty' has been buried under a pile of rationalisations. the story is a perfect depiciton of one of society's biggest problems: hyprocrisy. Sheer, stupid, blind hypocrisy.
After watching the movies and reading the articles it's easy for one to see the correspondence. They are all pointing out the system. The post-modern era is the one we are living in with all of its contradiction, complexity, inequality. We are all looking for meaning and we are seeking for values however we are embedded in illusions. We can't catch up what we are looking for.
