Also important note would be that Spain went through two political transitions in the 1970’s. One was the transition from authoritarian to democratic rules and other – drastic restructuring of the state.
Political elites were simultaneously confronting at least four tasks at that time. One, the transition to a stable democratic system, the decentralization of the Spanish state, the construction of viable, institutionalized parties and a short- term vote maximization.
