Valve train problem.
Valve train problems can causes engine missing, oil consumptions, blue – grey exhaust smoke, light tapping sounds from the upper area of the engine, rough idling, overall performance problems, and even cylinder and piston damage. A worn or damaged camshaft, timing chain, gear or belt, valve, valve guides, push rods, cam bearing, or rocker arms can all upset engine operation.
A burned valve results when the heat from combustion blows away a small portion of the valve face. This allows pressure to leak out of the combustion chamber and chamber and enter the intake or exhaust pod. The air-fuel mixture will NOT ignite and burn.
With a burned valve, you may be able to heart a putting sound as pressure blows past the valve. There may be a popping sound at the carburetor or throttle bow (bad intake valve) or at the exhaust system tailpipe (burned exhaust valve).…
