In the story of Hedda Gabler, Hedda is portrayed as a powerful, manipulative, over-powering character. Her need to dominate is easily seen through her odd relationships involving her husband Jurgen Tesman, Judge Brack, Ejlert Loevborg, and even her childhood friend Mrs. Elvsted.
