The Act of Burning the American Flag

I am an American soldier going on ten years of services in the United States Army.
I'm currently a Drill instructor for basic combat training at Ft. Knox Kentucky. I Have Served in Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq and have seen what makes this nation the greatest in the World. From the horrors of War, to your battle buddies showing strength and kindness during difficult times. Flag burning can be and usually is a very controversial issue with people. Many people believe that the American flag stands for something important and shouldn't be destroyed in that manner. I'm one of them, others believe that flag burning is a statement that one should be able to make without major repercussions.
